FS: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design?
SN: The main principle and idea is natural cell infusion- how two pieces connect, retain their own individuality but synchronise with each other. Also to use pieces that are generally discarded and create beauty from them.

FS: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve?
SN: The main focus in designing this work was the exploration of materials, their restraints and characteristics.

FS: What are your future plans for this award winning design?
SN: We plan to introduce this award winning design via fairs to the rest of the world.

FS: How long did it take you to design this particular concept?
SN: It took 3 weeks to design the initial concept.

FS: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration?
SN: The design was based on inspiration of creating something usable from discarded pieces.

SN: We intend to produce the work ourselves.

FS: What made you design this particular type of work?
SN: We wanted to show people that even discarded pieces have a lot of beauty within them that can be harnessed with proper care and attention.

FS: Where there any other designs and/or designers that helped the influence the design of your work?
SN: We have respect for a lot of designers, artists, poets, writers and scholars alike- their thoughts and drive inspire us in our daily pursuance of creativity.

FS: Who is the target customer for his design?
SN: The design is available to anyone who appreciates good design and unique process.

FS: What sets this design apart from other similar or resembling concepts?
SN: This design is set apart from other concepts as the configuration of the barks is unique to this particular product, as is its care and treatment.

FS: How did you come up with the name for this design? What does it mean?
SN: The amoeba is the cell organism that can change its shape by expanding and contracting, this was the inspiration behind the amoeba coffee table.

FS: Which design tools did you use when you were working on this project?
SN: The design tools were a lot of hand sketches with graphite pencils and paper, and Auto CAD.

FS: What is the most unique aspect of your design?
SN: The beauty of the bark itself is the most unique aspect of the design and the fact that no two barks are the same yet they connect so effortlessly.
