Interview with Weizhi Cao at Wednesday 26th of April 2017 FS: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design? WC: Our inspiration comes from the tedious design of the hanger in life, we found that we usually live in the hanger is not conducive to admission. So I hope to bring a new hanger, neither affecting the daily use, nor affect the storage folding. FS: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve? WC: My main studio design product modeling and leadership team work, I want to achieve a simple product design to solve complex problems. FS: What are your future plans for this award winning design? WC: We will look for the relevant industry designers continue to in-depth research and development, to be fully in line with the process and production costs, plans to sell or lease the right to produce. FS: How long did it take you to design this particular concept? WC: I usually need half a year to a year. FS: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration? WC: Our inspiration is from the daily life of people drying clothes, the hanger can not be conducive to storage, take up a lot of space. And people in travel also need a more portable hanger carrying, so the design of this design-specific concept.This design is derived from the burst of inspiration. FS: Is your design being produced or used by another company, or do you plan to sell or lease the production rights or do you intent to produce your work yourself? WC: We plan to sell or lease production rights. FS: What made you design this particular type of work? WC: Design inspiration comes from the experience of life. FS: Where there any other designs and/or designers that helped the influence the design of your work? WC: This work is designed jointly by our design team and has not been affected by other people or design teams. FS: Who is the target customer for his design? WC: The target customer is all the community. FS: What sets this design apart from other similar or resembling concepts? WC: Our design compared to other design advantages is to reduce the use of space, the use of more intuitive process FS: How did you come up with the name for this design? What does it mean? WC: The name of the work can be more intuitive, vividly show the characteristics of the work itself. FS: Which design tools did you use when you were working on this project? WC: Rhino 5.0,keyshot,photoshop, FS: What is the most unique aspect of your design? WC: I think the most unique side can be folded in a way to maximize the use of space. FS: Who did you collaborate with for this design? Did you work with people with technical / specialized skills? WC: This work is done by our design community. Design and development stage and related production enterprises have had a deep technical staff. FS: What is the role of technology in this particular design? WC: We want to use space to maximize the use of folding, while not affecting the normal use of hanger. FS: Is your design influenced by data or analytical research in any way? What kind of research did you conduct for making this design? WC: Our design process through a variety of feasibility analysis, to find the best structure, through the study model repeated scrutiny program, optimization program to verify. FS: What are some of the challenges you faced during the design/realization of your concept? WC: This design involves the use of related materials and production process between the process and we encountered an unprecedented challenge. FS: How did you decide to submit your design to an international design competition? WC: I think that designing products with social value and humanistic value should be shared by all the world's people who are close to this area, so A'DESIGN AWARD is the most direct promotion platform. FS: What did you learn or how did you improve yourself during the designing of this work? WC: In this design I learned how to make the product in the operation or use from the complex operation into a simple. FS: Any other things you would like to cover that have not been covered in these questions? WC: These questions are basically covered.
