Interview with Wooseok Kim at Monday 12th of December 2016

FS: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design?
WK: The study material and human beings and the nature of the melting.In search of the features reflected in the design of the material.

FS: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve?
WK: Fusion of art and design, looking for material nature of the unique factors.

FS: What are your future plans for this award winning design?
WK: Communicate the design of the West and contribution to the east.

FS: How long did it take you to design this particular concept?
WK: Mud and making way and a lot of years, Yixing teapot design was studied in China.Creative design by 2014 to start.

FS: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration?
WK: The teapot is widespread use of human subjects.Mud the nature of the moulding of the characteristics to express a teapot.

FS: Is your design being produced or used by another company, or do you plan to sell or lease the production rights or do you intent to produce your work yourself?
WK: Also hopes to build.

FS: What made you design this particular type of work?
WK: The mud of plastic, trying to put mud in the the only design to the texture of the pot.

FS: Where there any other designs and/or designers that helped the influence the design of your work?
WK: China's Yixing of skilled workers and teachers.

FS: Who is the target customer for his design?
WK: The dining room and in love with a cup of tea.

FS: What sets this design apart from other similar or resembling concepts?
WK: Historically, human pot use of a very long time.This paper analyzes the people of the teapot design.

FS: How did you come up with the name for this design? What does it mean?
WK: Mud the things that are accidental.I tried to express the probability.

FS: Which design tools did you use when you were working on this project?
WK: After 3 D design, handmade.A portion of mold.

FS: What is the most unique aspect of your design?
WK: Express dress wrinkles or texture naturally in mud.

FS: Who did you collaborate with for this design? Did you work with people with technical / specialized skills?
WK: Technical workers and teachers in Yixing, China

FS: What is the role of technology in this particular design?
WK: The characteristics of purple clay is breathable, not glazed nor Water Leakage。

FS: Is your design influenced by data or analytical research in any way? What kind of research did you conduct for making this design?
WK: Analysis of physical and chemical characteristics and toxicity of pot。

FS: What are some of the challenges you faced during the design/realization of your concept?
WK: The problems and the way to use the texture expression。

FS: How did you decide to submit your design to an international design competition?
WK: Hope that after the game, the east of the outstanding subject to introduce to you, also want to learn the design of the west.

FS: What did you learn or how did you improve yourself during the designing of this work?
WK: There is no perfect design, need to constantly improve and work hard.

FS: Any other things you would like to cover that have not been covered in these questions?
WK: I don't have.
