Interview with Bright Story Design at Monday 24th of April 2017

FS: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design?
RI: Material design was leveraged heavily in this design. Although, the purpose of it was to help the design fade away and allow the strong imagery to take over and entice the user to learn more.

FS: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve?
RI: The goal was to create an engaging experience that would help the clients of Embassy Flavour better understand the nature of their business. They truly are a cutting-edge company with fantastic products. This site was meant to highlight that.

FS: What are your future plans for this award winning design?
RI: I hope to feature this award-winning website on various design-based websites to serve as a beacon for showcasing material design principals that can fade away into the background and allow the content and strong imagery to be the real focus.

FS: How long did it take you to design this particular concept?
RI: This was a 3-month project from concept to completion.

FS: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration?
RI: This design was commissioned by the client.

FS: Is your design being produced or used by another company, or do you plan to sell or lease the production rights or do you intent to produce your work yourself?
RI: We do not plan to sell this design to additional clients. This was custom-built to strategically solve the challenges that Embassy Flavours faced. This site will expand to an international market shortly.

FS: What made you design this particular type of work?
RI: Extensive research about competitors in the field of commercial baking supplies.

FS: Where there any other designs and/or designers that helped the influence the design of your work?
RI: I drew inspiration from various designs, but android.com really helped in the creation of this site.

FS: Who is the target customer for his design?
RI: Commercial bakeries that supply large grocery stores, restaurant chains and other retailers of baked goods.

FS: What sets this design apart from other similar or resembling concepts?
RI: The product! Bold images of the actual finished product, as well as the process behind it are truly one of a kind. They are a cutting-edge producer of commercial baked goods and ingredients. This was heavily showcased.

FS: How did you come up with the name for this design? What does it mean?
RI: It was provided.

FS: Which design tools did you use when you were working on this project?
RI: Sketch, wordpress, divi.

FS: What is the most unique aspect of your design?
RI: The simplicity and boldness of the imagery used.

FS: Who did you collaborate with for this design? Did you work with people with technical / specialized skills?
RI: Embassy Flavours and Olga Jovynruk.

FS: What is the role of technology in this particular design?
RI: It is a website.

FS: Is your design influenced by data or analytical research in any way? What kind of research did you conduct for making this design?
RI: Yes, there was plenty of research done on the imagery used to ensure the greatest effectiveness.

FS: What are some of the challenges you faced during the design/realization of your concept?
RI: Some of the limitations of using wordpress increased the design time required to create this site.

FS: How did you decide to submit your design to an international design competition?
RI: The client recommended that we submit the design.
