FS: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design?
HG: People always feel cold when they are handing an umbrella in cold weather. So we design this Warm Umbrella Sheath Basing on the humanization consideration.
FS: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve?
HG: It is Simple, easy to realize. I want to achieve how to combine Sheath with the umbrella better.
FS: What are your future plans for this award winning design?
HG: I hope to produce it, and serve more people.
FS: How long did it take you to design this particular concept?
HG: About one year.
FS: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration?
HG: I found this problem, and it was resolved not good,so I decide to pursuit an inspiration.
FS: Is your design being produced or used by another company, or do you plan to sell or lease the production rights or do you intent to produce your work yourself?
HG: I plan to sell or lease the production rights to any companys.
FS: What made you design this particular type of work?
HG: responsibility
FS: Where there any other designs and/or designers that helped the influence the design of your work?
HG: Yes，They gave me a lot of help。
FS: Who is the target customer for his design?
HG: The umbrella manufacturer.
FS: What sets this design apart from other similar or resembling concepts?
HG: It is an accessories.it can press on any straight umbrella and easy to manufacture
FS: How did you come up with the name for this design? What does it mean?
HG: I name it based on his function and using status.
FS: Which design tools did you use when you were working on this project?
HG: Rhinocer software,and silica gel.
FS: What is the most unique aspect of your design?
HG: He is soft, and have different functions according to different need.
FS: Who did you collaborate with for this design? Did you work with people with technical / specialized skills?
HG: Our team have seven people, They are Ruijiang Gu,Wei Zhang,Jianing Shi,Yafang Chen,Chunxia Han,Mingqi Yu.I work with people with technical?
FS: What is the role of technology in this particular design?
HG: Material selection and how to make.
FS: Is your design influenced by data or analytical research in any way? What kind of research did you conduct for making this design?
HG: Yes, We observed the 100 people with umbrellas, there are same problems.
FS: What are some of the challenges you faced during the design/realization of your concept?
HG: What materials can do it and how to realize it.
FS: How did you decide to submit your design to an international design competition?
HG: We will further improve the work.
FS: What did you learn or how did you improve yourself during the designing of this work?
HG: Need to go to test yourself and modify it many times.
FS: Any other things you would like to cover that have not been covered in these questions?
HG: No
