Interview with Nazanin Akbarian Dehaghani at Sunday 17th of April 2016

FS: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design?
NA: The splash pendant is designed based on a very short moment when a stone piece collides with water. We all have seen this unique moment countless times although haven't pay enough attention to its beauty, by the use of a freeze shot the forms of water splashes has been applied as the main element of this piece.

FS: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve?
NA: Fluid splashes in freeze shots has always been a charming occurrence for the inquiring mind of these days people. In Splash pendant this pure moment has been exploited to attain the main form of the pendant which is designed based on collision between a solid object and liquids. In this piece the fluid spiral form represents the water splashes and the pearl as a metaphor for a stone piece. Spiral forms with its golden ratio make a pleasant appearance for the eyes of user.

FS: What are your future plans for this award winning design?
NA: converting the Splash concept to physical product.

FS: How long did it take you to design this particular concept?
NA: around 40 days from start to the final step.

FS: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration?
NA: we wanted to utilize a charming occurrence in the nature and apply it to a product, it wasn't commissioned.

FS: Is your design being produced or used by another company, or do you plan to sell or lease the production rights or do you intent to produce your work yourself?
NA: we have planed to find a sponsor who is able to support our concept to production.

FS: What made you design this particular type of work?
NA: The desire to design a different jewelry from Things that are available in the market.

FS: Who is the target customer for his design?
NA: Everyone, especially those who are amazed by natural phenomenon.

FS: How did you come up with the name for this design? What does it mean?
NA: It has been inspired by the form and the inspiration.

FS: Which design tools did you use when you were working on this project?
NA: 3D modeling softwares: Rhinoceros, T-spline, Matrix. Renreding softwares: V-Ray

FS: What are some of the challenges you faced during the design/realization of your concept?
NA: The biggest challenge of the design process was to make a fluid form which vividly represents the liquidity of water.
