Interview with Peter Stasek at Monday 13th of August 2018 FS: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design? PS: The creation of an artificial and environmentally friendly oasis FS: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve? PS: There is more and more desert area. New projects have to be realized here too, but by other means. FS: What are your future plans for this award winning design? PS: This concept should also be further developed and used in other projects. FS: How long did it take you to design this particular concept? PS: over a year FS: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration? PS: At the beginning was the idea which was later presented to the investor FS: Is your design being produced or used by another company, or do you plan to sell or lease the production rights or do you intent to produce your work yourself? PS: the negotiations are still going on FS: What made you design this particular type of work? PS: I also think desert offers a lot of challenges for a designer FS: Where there any other designs and/or designers that helped the influence the design of your work? PS: In the final phase, some of my employees also participated in this project FS: Who is the target customer for his design? PS: to make an area attractive, where one does not expect this FS: What sets this design apart from other similar or resembling concepts? PS: I think here are many approaches to be able to use such areas FS: How did you come up with the name for this design? What does it mean? PS: D.Butterfly is like being able to fly across the desert like a desert butterfly FS: Which design tools did you use when you were working on this project? PS: imagination drawings models ArchiCAD 3dsMax FS: What is the most unique aspect of your design? PS: touch the existing landscape as little as possible FS: Who did you collaborate with for this design? Did you work with people with technical / specialized skills? PS: There were some experts here FS: What is the role of technology in this particular design? PS: good technology should make all parts of the design more elegant and cheaper to build FS: Is your design influenced by data or analytical research in any way? What kind of research did you conduct for making this design? PS: the decisive factor here was intuition as usual FS: What are some of the challenges you faced during the design/realization of your concept? PS: the development of the individual parts of the building forms the landscaping designer structure FS: How did you decide to submit your design to an international design competition? PS: to share a creative approach FS: What did you learn or how did you improve yourself during the designing of this work? PS: it does not depend on the beauty of the landscape but on the viewing angle alone
