Interview with Vladimir N. Bratchenko at Wednesday 20th of April 2016 FS: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design? VB: The main inspiration behind this design is a beauty of the bird Rose Flamingo. So the main idea in this design to integrate FLAMINGO's beauty with elegance of the rose wine. FS: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve? VB: Our main focus has been made unique bright design. We didn't want to make ordinary wine label design. We wanted to get something really special. FS: What are your future plans for this award winning design? VB: We going to sell this design. FS: How long did it take you to design this particular concept? VB: We spent about three weeks to finish design of this concept. FS: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration? VB: We definitely were inspired by the image of Rose Flamingo. It was a spontaneous project. FS: Is your design being produced or used by another company, or do you plan to sell or lease the production rights or do you intent to produce your work yourself? VB: This design was made for sell. So, at this moment we are looking for customer. FS: Where there any other designs and/or designers that helped the influence the design of your work? VB: We have been worked with amazing illustrator Patrick Seymour. I was really nice collaboration. FS: Who is the target customer for his design? VB: Target customer is a producer of the wines. FS: What sets this design apart from other similar or resembling concepts? VB: We got two parts of this design that make it unique: illustration with stylish drawing of Flamingo and a bottle. FS: How did you come up with the name for this design? What does it mean? VB: The name of this design is comes from the Bird Rose Flamingo. FS: Which design tools did you use when you were working on this project? VB: We have been used Illustrator, Cinema 4D, Rhinoceros and Photoshop. FS: What is the most unique aspect of your design? VB: I think that most unique aspect of our design is an illustration of Patrick. It looks very unusual. FS: Who did you collaborate with for this design? Did you work with people with technical / specialized skills? VB: Yes, we got a team work. Patrick Seymour made an illustrations, Egvenii worked with 3D model and I made 3D visualization, rendering and post production. FS: What is the role of technology in this particular design? VB: We used 3D programs. It was really convenient to finish our concept. Cause final result looks like a photo. FS: Is your design influenced by data or analytical research in any way? What kind of research did you conduct for making this design? VB: As I sad before in was spontaneous project. But before started this project I made some research about Rose Wine, especially wines named Flamingo. After that we started work on illustrations and bottle designs. FS: What are some of the challenges you faced during the design/realization of your concept? VB: Well, we really looked for balanced rose color and bottle design. It was very important that all parts of design should be in a harmony. FS: How did you decide to submit your design to an international design competition? VB: I've got an invitation from A'Design Award Team. FS: What did you learn or how did you improve yourself during the designing of this work? VB: We worked with professional illustrator Patrick Seymour. So I got really nice experience while worked on this project.
