Interview with Maria Anvar at Saturday 14th of March 2015 FS: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design? MA: My inspiration has for this design was derived from nature. How the dew drops fall beautifully on a leaf and reflect the beautiful green color. FS: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve? MA: I wanted the design to be true to nature, focusing mainly on the structure and form of the leaf. FS: How long did it take you to design this particular concept? MA: it took me around a week to design it on 3D. FS: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration? MA: I am drawn towards nature and I love working on designs that are inspired by. I find this design very soulful mainly because of the beauty and simplicity found in nature. FS: Is your design being produced or used by another company, or do you plan to sell or lease the production rights or do you intent to produce your work yourself? MA: I plan to produce my work myself. FS: What made you design this particular type of work? MA: My love for design! FS: What sets this design apart from other similar or resembling concepts? MA: The beauty and simplicity of it makes it stand out from the rest. FS: Which design tools did you use when you were working on this project? MA: Matrix 7.5 FS: What is the most unique aspect of your design? MA: The leaf encircling around the stem. FS: Who did you collaborate with for this design? Did you work with people with technical / specialized skills? MA: My teacher at GIA New York guided me wherever it was necessary. FS: What is the role of technology in this particular design? MA: It has a very important role. It was because of the 3D design program was it possible for me to give life to this beautiful design. FS: How did you decide to submit your design to an international design competition? MA: Just the mere recognition of my design at the GIA students choice award encouraged me to go ahead and take a chance to submit at a design competition.
