Interview with Heloise Rajkumari at Wednesday 29th of April 2015

FS: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design?
HR: The main idea is to bring the diners close to natural elements and help them to reduce negative feelings of exhausting city life. It is inspired from Taro Leaf structure and the design intent is to make a fusion of floor vase and dining table.

HR: I would like to commercialize it.

FS: How long did it take you to design this particular concept?
HR: 4 Months

FS: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration?
HR: I designed this particular concept to bring in the concept of user experience in furniture design. I decided to pursuit an inspiration.

FS: Is your design being produced or used by another company, or do you plan to sell or lease the production rights or do you intent to produce your work yourself?
HR: I intent to produce my work myself.

FS: What made you design this particular type of work?
HR: The exhausting city life and less contact of people with nature in urban area inspired me to design Humming Tree.

FS: Where there any other designs and/or designers that helped the influence the design of your work?
HR: No.

FS: Who is the target customer for his design?
HR: Urban families and restaurants

FS: What sets this design apart from other similar or resembling concepts?
HR: This design has unique form of leaf in three dimension and apart from that the human sized arrangement in the table makes it unique.

FS: How did you come up with the name for this design? What does it mean?
HR: I named it Humming tree because the table will be used for arranging human sized tall branches of trees, leaves etc. mimicking a tree.

FS: Which design tools did you use when you were working on this project?
HR: Solidworks, Keyshot and Ansys.

FS: What is the most unique aspect of your design?
HR: The 3 dimensional leaf form with veins supporting the table top and the fusion of two functions that is a floor vase and a dining table giving a new experience to diners.
