Interview with Kirigami Design at Saturday 16th of August 2014 FS: How long did it take you to design this particular concept? AV: 18 months FS: Who is the target customer for his design? AV: Segment One (Parents with young children) Parents always want to give best for their children. One type of our products is motority driven products which means that children are able to express their creativity using Kirigami Design: writing and constructing. It is important for parents to understand the value Kirigami Design wants to give that children can express themselves by writing on a desk with a chalk. Children can also engage themselves in the process of DIY of Kirigami Design furniture. This segment is unique because People are open-minded and are willing to try new things based on feedback from the forums and blogs. In addition they are satisfied when their children are excited daily. The major value is valuable time spent with family. 1.2 Segment Two (Big city citizens) Second segment is Big city citizens living in central area though in tiny and cozy apartments. It is important to use space wisely in the Apartments which are small. A customer in this segment does not spend much time at home, because he is traveling or socializing most of the time. However, home is the place to relax and recover, which means every detail is important and it should bring positive emotions. What is more, people in this segment can win if they rent their apartment and move to the other homes. It helps to collect furniture faster as they can assemble and disassemble themselves with no additional tools or help. FS: What sets this design apart from other similar or resembling concepts? AV: • Sustainable: We choose natural materials and maintain nature in every day life • Insightful: We think how to create the stylish solution • Engaging: Furniture assembly can become a pleasant activity • Portable: Experience moving without stress by taking less time and less energy assembling and disassembling Kirigami furniture • Customized: Personalize and stand out among mass • Sincere: Our design is minimalistic with clear lines and value FS: Who did you collaborate with for this design? Did you work with people with technical / specialized skills? AV: We have worked and consulted with designers, architects, constructors, engineers and marketing specialists.
