Interview with Roohollah Merrikhpour at Monday 14th of March 2016 FS: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design? RM: How to make a big skateboard mobile and easy to carry? How can we (designers) have a big sketch board everywhere in our small stylish bags?! FS: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve? RM: We wanted to design a mobile and easy to carry big size (A3 or A4) sketch board without loosing any quality of regular sketch boards. "Small but full size!", how can we achieve this in a new product? this was what we worked on. FS: What are your future plans for this award winning design? RM: We plan to mass produce this product with a new material like aluminum or a new kind of processed wood based material. We may use crowd funding to collect our expected finance for the next step. FS: How long did it take you to design this particular concept? RM: It took 6 weeks of work on the very first idea to reach to the final prototype. FS: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration? RM: This project started based on a very personal need and an internal motivation. The need for sketching is a well known desire for every design geek and we all suffer that! FS: Is your design being produced or used by another company, or do you plan to sell or lease the production rights or do you intent to produce your work yourself? RM: We haven't have a plan to sell the rights of our design to a company or organization. We basically design it for ourselves. But if there is a good offer we surely consider it.
