Home > Winners > Design #32266 >Interview
Editor Frank Scott (FS) from DesignPRWire has interviewed designer Roohollah Merrikhpour (RM) for A' Design Awards and Competition. You can access the full profile of Roohollah Merrikhpour by clicking here. Access more information about the award winning design Roll it here.

Interview with Roohollah Merrikhpour at Monday 14th of March 2016

FS: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design?
RM: How to make a big skateboard mobile and easy to carry? How can we (designers) have a big sketch board everywhere in our small stylish bags?!

FS: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve?
RM: We wanted to design a mobile and easy to carry big size (A3 or A4) sketch board without loosing any quality of regular sketch boards. "Small but full size!", how can we achieve this in a new product? this was what we worked on.

FS: What are your future plans for this award winning design?
RM: We plan to mass produce this product with a new material like aluminum or a new kind of processed wood based material. We may use crowd funding to collect our expected finance for the next step.

FS: How long did it take you to design this particular concept?
RM: It took 6 weeks of work on the very first idea to reach to the final prototype.

FS: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration?
RM: This project started based on a very personal need and an internal motivation. The need for sketching is a well known desire for every design geek and we all suffer that!

FS: Is your design being produced or used by another company, or do you plan to sell or lease the production rights or do you intent to produce your work yourself?
RM: We haven't have a plan to sell the rights of our design to a company or organization. We basically design it for ourselves. But if there is a good offer we surely consider it.

FS: Thank you for providing us with this opportunity to interview you.
