Bb Little Garden Growing Lamp by Martouzet François-Xavier

Home > Winners > Design #26574 >Interview
Editor Frank Scott (FS) from DesignPRWire has interviewed designer Martouzet François-Xavier (MF) for A' Design Awards and Competition. You can access the full profile of Martouzet François-Xavier by clicking here. Access more information about the award winning design BB Little Garden here.

Interview with Martouzet François-Xavier at Friday 8th of March 2013

FS: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design?
MF: These days, very few people have the outdoor space to garden and grow their own herbs for cooking. The sleek BB Little Garden was designed with urban dwellers in mind and makes it possible to have fresh herbs all year round. Aesthetically and functionally, it’s more like a modern appliance and will blend perfectly in any kitchen.

FS: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve?
MF: The BB Little Garden is a lovely solution for the rapidly growing problem of gardening space in cities. Although it’s not the real outdoor gardening deal, the BB Little Garden, still lets you grow plants / herbs, wherever you like, including places lacking enough sunlight, since the LED powered device provide the exact amount of light needed.

FS: How did you come up with the name for this design? What does it mean?
MF: I was working in Bahia Blanca in Argentina and there it was not possible to find any type oh herbs to cook. Then I had this idea to make possible to grow your own plants. The BB is simply for Bahia Blanca.

FS: Thank you for providing us with this opportunity to interview you.
