Interview with Mula Preta Design at Sunday 22nd of April 2012 FS: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design? MD: The main ideia was to create a modern and sofisticated loveseat that breaks with our conventions. Create something unusual with an original aesthetics, and assimetric shapes that generates a new form in every side that we look, allowing a much more pleasant utilization, with a dynamic exclusive visualization. FS: What are your future plans for this award winning design? MD: I intend to sell this design for a great company, that can explore the full aspect of its creation. FS: How long did it take you to design this particular concept? MD: One week. FS: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration? MD: Actually I was developing an inspiration that I had, when I was studying parametric curves. When then I realize that many drawings that a had designed could be transformed into tridimensional models. FS: Is your design being produced or used by another company, or do you plan to sell or lease the production rights or do you intent to produce your work yourself? MD: I plan to sell or lease my idea. FS: How did you come up with the name for this design? What does it mean? MD: Fluent means "flowing" in latin, that represents the main idea of this loveseat. FS: Which design tools did you use when you were working on this project? MD: I start with the traditional paper and pencil, and then I modeled inside of 3d studio max and I finished off with keyshot render. FS: Who did you collaborate with for this design? Did you work with people with technical / specialized skills? MD: No, I did all by my self.
