Interview with Don Lin at Tuesday 1st of May 2012 FS: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design? DL: I have tried to combine many design elements in this house. By doing these, it will make the space even more compact. Therefore the final detailing was to propose resources with less cleaning cohesiveness activity. On the other hand, the functional aspect was examined during the planning stage. Existing wall tiles were replaced with durable porcelain, a public cable-tray render across an environmental friendly gesture and also compact wood finish shape out an extremely thoughtful communication. Finally, layer by layer of echoes is being filled up. FS: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve? DL: To create a casual lifestyle that totally belongs to this newlyweds couple. Just a Thank you will do. FS: What are your future plans for this award winning design? DL: I was hoping to share more ideas and create more design to the world. FS: How long did it take you to design this particular concept? DL: 2 weeks FS: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration? DL: Because of its old structure elements therefore it has driven me to reshape the current condition to a degree of a new enriched living space. Stylistically, introduce the timesless local ideal and display client's individual influences. I strongly pursuit an inspiration for every project.
