FS: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration?
JJ: It was actually just an idea that started to evolve –in my head, then on paper, then full size foam models, and finally a 3D CAD model.
FS: Is your design being produced or used by another company, or do you plan to sell or lease the production rights or do you intent to produce your work yourself?
JJ: It is not being produced, but I hope to sell the production rights.
FS: What sets this design apart from other similar or resembling concepts?
JJ: It’s visually characteristic, and it has a playful “lively” side to it. It’s enjoyable and comfortable.
FS: How did you come up with the name for this design? What does it mean?
JJ: It came naturally from the spinning top, which was the inspiration for the design.
FS: Who did you collaborate with for this design? Did you work with people with technical / specialized skills?
JJ: I worked on the full scale models with a friend of mine, cutting our way through kilometers of foam while drinking gallons of coffee and listening to good music.
FS: How did you decide to submit your design to an international design competition?
JJ: I saw this competition as a very good chance for the design to be exposed internationally, hopefully also to interested companies.
