Interview with Mitra Mohebbi at Saturday 21st of May 2022 FS: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design? MM: This design is inspired by a creature in nature called woodlouse. FS: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve? MM: This design is a privacy chair And the purpose of designing the Relstation chair is to create a private and comfortable space for the user, so we used two modes, normal and privacy. FS: What are your future plans for this award winning design? MM: manufacturing FS: How long did it take you to design this particular concept? MM: From zero to one hundred FS: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration? MM: This design was an inspiration from nature Unique, comfortable and eye-catching design A different form of chair with privacy for the person FS: Is your design being produced or used by another company, or do you plan to sell or lease the production rights or do you intent to produce your work yourself? MM: Yes, I would like an investor to invest in my design and bring my design to production so that I can reap the benefits of production. FS: What made you design this particular type of work? MM: Creating a comfortable space that fits the ergonomics of the human body Private place for user rest. FS: Who is the target customer for his design? MM: Suitable for all people FS: What sets this design apart from other similar or resembling concepts? MM: Unique form and source of inspiration Creates two modes of normal and privacy for the user FS: How did you come up with the name for this design? What does it mean? MM: Relstation is a combination of the words relax and station Means relaxation station FS: Which design tools did you use when you were working on this project? MM: Pencil, paper and software FS: What is the most unique aspect of your design? MM: Form FS: Who did you collaborate with for this design? Did you work with people with technical / specialized skills? MM: From professors and engineers FS: What is the role of technology in this particular design? MM: The exterior of this design consists of nine pieces, each piece placed one after the other with strong connections. The ninth piece has the ability to move to create both normal and privacy The inside of the chair is made of soft sponge for furniture. FS: Is your design influenced by data or analytical research in any way? What kind of research did you conduct for making this design? MM: For this design, we did a lot of research to be able to design a special product and eye-catching in accordance with the ergonomics of the human body in terms of quality and efficiency. FS: What are some of the challenges you faced during the design/realization of your concept? MM: To change mode normally and privately We tried to solve the problems by consulting experts FS: How did you decide to submit your design to an international design competition? MM: Because this competition is one of the most prominent competitions in the world And everyone wishes to win this contest FS: What did you learn or how did you improve yourself during the designing of this work? MM: While researching, I learned some interesting and informative things about chair design
