A' Design Award & Competition is actively seeking jurors to assist in the evaluation of projects submitted for the current competition period. To put your name forward as a juror, please complete the form from the link found at the bottom of this page.
Every year, A’ Design Award & Competition strives to create a fair competition platform where designers, artists and architects from multi-disciplinary fields compete for authority, prestige, fame and publicity through their projects, designs and products.
While the mission of the competition is to create prestige, fame and publicity for winners, the vision is to create a better world, a better future through design. Within this perspective, the public aim, or the agenda of the competition is to establish design as a fundamental ingredient of a better society, to create awareness for good design, and support the global design culture.
A’ Design Award & Competition is a synthetically developed design award through a doctoral-level advanced design study research to create a design competition that would offer the most to its participants. Since the A’ Design Award is organized by a private entity, a transparent and sustainable business model was designed for the guaranteed continuity of the event. Within this perspective, while the competition requires a payment to submit works, every post-competition service is provided free of charge to winners; such as the annual publication, physical exhibition of awarded designs, and gala-night, the competition trophy, and pr-services and others. Furthermore, several programs were designed to allow talented design students and recent graduates to join the competition for free, making A’ Design Award an accessible design competition to all prospective participants.

As a prospective jury member, it is important for you to know that A’ Design Award and Competition annually publish trend reports, studies, scientific articles regarding design, within this concept, the organization of the award, along with surveys to the participants and jury members allows us to come-up with answers to previously open questions, and also to reflect the state of art in the design field through the conducted work.
Composition of the Jury is divided into five groups: Academic Members (University Professors, Educators and Lecturers), Enterprise Group (Company Owners, High-Level Managers), Professional Group (Active Professionals in Design, Arts and Architecture Fields), Focus Group (End-Users), Media (Press Members, Editors, Publishers). While Jury assessment criteria is given, we always strive to have more jury members to ensure that jury members are not overwhelmed by the amount of works they evaluate.
Evaluation process is anonymous and blind; i.e. Jury members are not displayed whose works they are voting for, and the participants cannot see who voted for their designs. However this correlation data is stored in our database, which we use to normalize the scores, and to assign a ranking to entries. Jury members are provided the opportunity to provide a feedback to participants in addition to provide their insights for betterment of the competition in general.
Jury Voting is online, within a 7-day period, there are two interfaces for voting; the scientific interface which allows us to capture your insights and suggestions, and the fast-voting interface which enables jury members to evaluate the results in a faster way. Furthermore, to decrease the work-load of jury members, each jury member is assigned to several relevant categories, and in each category, only a portion of designs are queued for evaluation.
Jury members are requested to submit a third-person biography or CV, together with a low-resolution, preferably black & white image to display at our website. Applications shall be completed online (from the bottom of this page).
Time Required: There are two judging mechanisms made available to jury members, the academic mechanism which also includes a survey for each category requires around 1 hour per category, and the quick mechanism requires around 30 minutes per each category. Each jury member is usually assigned four categories; one main category, where your vote will be highest, and three other categories. For each category any two of the mechanisms could be used, however for your main category especially it is suggested that you follow the academic evaluation form.
Important Dates: Jury Member Application period is ongoing and always, however the cut-off date is January 1st; if you apply after January 1st, your membership would most likely be considered for next edition and not for the current edition for which voting takes place in April 1 to 12th. Exhibition and Gala-Night dates are usually arranged for the summer periods, which provides time to set-up the exhibition and prepare and press the yearbooks.
