It is a 3D printable prosthetic hand. All parts were designed to be put together in two piece assemblies. Only one part would need to be attached at a time during assembly. This avoided complex processes requiring two hands. A four-bar linkage was used as a finger joint coupling mechanism to produce consistent movement and greater force at the fingertip than a purely tendon-based design.

Psyonic
PSYONIC’s mission is to deliver advanced, neurally-controlled prosthetic hands with more functionality and lower cost than state-of-the-art prostheses. By employing machine learning algorithms, our prostheses are able to recognize different patterns of muscle activity from the user’s residual limb. We will also have the first commercially available prosthesis capable of sensory feedback. Through PSYONIC's innovations, we will disrupt the status quo of the prosthetics industry and decrease prosthesis rejection and abandonment. By leveraging 3D-printing and novel manufacturing techniques, we are able to produce prostheses for one-tenth the price of comparable devices and can offer customization to fit the needs and preferences of individuals. We have built partnerships with leading professionals and key opinion leaders in the prosthetics field to gain a sense of the problems facing current amputees. We have a dynamic team of experts in neuroscience, mechanical engineering, robotics, prosthetics, and clinical work. By combining these skill sets we can solve even the most acute problems people with upper-limb amputations face
