The objective of the project is to transform the library entrance into a space center and unfold the library journey, where children can immerse themselves in interactive games as well as learning how to use the classification numbers as clues in order to find books. This design aims to raise children’s motivation through gamification learning. Children are taught about the meaning of classification number in a supportive atmosphere and encouraged to find books by themselves so they can easily understand the meaning of these numbers and build a cognitive map in their mind.
Chia-Ching, Chou is always deeply interested in finding the logic behind every design and potential solutions for improving the world. This enormous passion that led her to the path of becoming a designer. She graduated from Tamkang University with a Bachelor’s degree in computer science and information engineering, and she got her master in Interaction design in National Taipei University of Technology. Her background in coding and design has taught her to look at design decisions or problems from different perspectives and design user-center experiences for both projects and products.
The National Library of Public Information was founded in 1923 and is one of the earliest public libraries in Taiwan. It expects to become a library with the substance of REAL (Reading, Exploring, recreAtion & Learning) and a digital public library that combines physical and virtual services.
