| DESIGN NAME: Loover PRIMARY FUNCTION: Sofa INSPIRATION: As a designer,I aspire to break away from the average mode of furniture manufacturing by avoiding the use of screws, nails, pins, glue or other such materials.I designed the LOOVER sofa with parts that are assembled and joined together in elaborate ways, in order to produce a high-quality and elegant sofa design that in no case do not lack in durability and stability. This makes it extremely simple to assemble or disassemble it -without the use of hand tools- as well as transport or store it, and results in reduced and minimized costs of manufacturing. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The uniqueness of this sofa is a result of the way it is assembled. Its parts are separate and detachable, connected together in a way that does not require the use of tools, while this does not affect negatively on its static balance and sturdiness. For this reason the assembling and disassembling of this sofa is extremely simple and uncomplicated, done without the need of nuts, bolts, screws, glue or other such materials. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: This design is a functional and comfortable sofa that can be assembled and disassembled in an easy and clever way. That means that it can be transported or stored without dificulties. Also it provides a lot of combinations between wood textures, colors of metal base and fabrics. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The idea was conceped in December 2017 and the design was completed in August 2018. The construction of the sofa took place in January 2019. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Harmonious and apparent coexistence of natural wood and metal in combination with innovative design and contemporary aesthetics, have resulted in the creation of this sofa frame. Fine walnut veneered bare endgrain birch boards, cut and formed by a CNC machine, on a metal base of a circular electrostatic paint hollow profile. Seat and back cushions are made of high quality materials, complying with the specifications required for a modern and comfortable sofa, and upholstered in fabric of your own choice. His intense, observant ability and designing excitability drive him to a continuous search of novel ideas. He draws inspiration from any geometrical shape seen in nature and this results in the creation of functional and elegant pieces of furniture, fit both for your home as well as a work area. His aim and goal is innovative patterns, seen through a cutting edge sense of style, with raw materials of excellent quality and utmost respect towards the consumer and the environment. CHALLENGE: The only difficulty I faced was when I decided to construct the sofa. I had to find the suitable manifacturers in order to do the job for me and it was at that time, I realised that none of them wanted to deal with only one piece.
