INSPIRATION: In the spirit of the 1950's rock-n-roll event theme, the promotional campaign design was inspired by American diner neon signage.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Cocktails Against Cancer hosts an annual fundraising event to raise donations for its beneficiaries. The 2016 event theme was 1950's rock and roll. This three color silkscreen poster with neon inks hung around the city and invited guests to a night out for a good cause.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The poster hung in cafes and boutiques around Philadelphia promoting the benefit.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: Designed + printed in Philadelphia. Posters were hung in advance of the event.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Silkscreen printed with fluorescent inks and a layer of white underprinting on French Nightshift Blue paper.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Vintage diner neon signage was studied in preparation for this design.
CHALLENGE: Together with the client, we positioned the event as a fun way to spend an evening and give to charity at the same time. In the poster, we had to get the 1950s rock 'n roll theme across, communicate the fun factor, and establish value as a charitable event.
