DESIGN NAME: Cosmos
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Table Clock
INSPIRATION: The inspiration came from the universe and the planets that exist therein. The large sphere indicates the earth and the small sphere indicates the moon next the earth, which in balance of power, the moon rotating around the earth.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: "Cosmos" is a table clock that is designed to be a centerpiece of a table. The spheres on the ceramic plate rotates by movement of the clock hands under the plate with magnets attached on each end. The subtle movement of spheres will indicate the time of the day.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The balls on the ceramic plate rotates by movement of the clock hands under the plate with magnets attached on each end.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in August of 2014 at Purdue University in US and finished in end of September.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The plate and the bowl will be made out of ceramic material with glassy finish, which can reduce the friction on the surface. The metal spheres on the plate will be made out of metal, which can be rotate by the magnet on the clock hands. The clock mechanism will be an OEM part, which can be purchased by any manufacturer.
SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: The size will be about 20 centimeter wide and 5 centimeter tall.
