| DESIGN NAME: The booklight PRIMARY FUNCTION: Lighting INSPIRATION: The design is inspired from the action of taking out a book from the book shelf. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: This booklight design is simple and has a effective way of functioning. The design is relative to human behavior of taking a book from a shelf and is fun at the same time. when it is not in use it is the part of the bookshelf. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: It can be charged both by USB and an adaptor. Take out the lights to switch on with clicking sounds and put in to turn off the lights PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project is started in 2010 in Korea and developed in September 2011 in Italy. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: white polycarbonate plastic/ aluminum/acrylicglas SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Width 50mm x Depth 200mm x Height 240mm / Lighting,USB charger/ LED TAGS: poetic design, lighting + reading RESEARCH ABSTRACT: At first time that i start to design the lighting. I remind that people usually using the lights when they reading a book. so i thought light and reading are inseparable. And then I imagined the scene that I reading books surrounded by huge amounts of bookshelves with this BookLight. CHALLENGE: Defining new concept and creation idea is most my favorite part in design process. But for me as a student , technical part is the most hardest part. Concerning that what kinds of technologies can be applied in design is always makes me hard. and Even if no matter how technology advances, struggling in design process between engineers and designers will continue even after a few year.
