| DESIGN NAME: Aquafold PRIMARY FUNCTION: Shower Equipment INSPIRATION: The inspiration came from a not-so-perfect outdoor activity. After a long day of outdoor activity, everyone wanted to take a nice shower, anytime and anywhere in outdoor scenes. Even though theres no visible natural water source, reserved rain or dew can still be used. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The Aquafold is a collapsible, portable outdoor shower that one can use to change the spare tire on a crossover or SUV and mount on the back of the trunk tailgate. When unfolded, it creates a small shower that can accommodate one person and can be used for bathing in outdoor camping and other scenarios.Collect rainwater or dew while driving to be used for bathing when there is no visible natural water source OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The Aquafold can provide a shower by connecting your own pump to an outdoor water source or backup tank and showering from bottom to top with a jet of water. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project begins in December 2023 and will be completed in February 2024. |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: A material for a collapsible outdoor shower unit that needs to be convenient, durable and easy to fold. Using waterproof and high temperature resistant materials to prevent easy damage, this product uses a lightweight alloy shell as the device to ensure the reliability of the device in outdoor environments. At the same time, the foldable rigid steel connecting rod is used so that the device does not need to be folded and carried. The technology of spraying water downwards is used to ensure the uniqueness of the water spraying process. The floor is made of pine, which absorbs water and adds stiffness, making it an ideal lightweight material. Ultimately, proper design and manufacturing processes will help realize such a foldable outdoor shower. The goal is to design a shower device that is light, easy to fold, and does not take up space. This product replaces the original spare tire position of off-road models, saving space to a greater extent while improving the convenience and comfort of users showering in outdoor environments. This design further highlights the multi-functional potential of the replaceable spare tire in outdoor activities, and is in line with the development trend of the auto parts industry in today's multi-functional design requirements. CHALLENGE: Designing a collapsible outdoor shower unit requires consideration of both structural stability and the complexity of the folding mechanism. Ensuring a strong structure when in use while remaining compact when folded requires balancing multiple factors in both appearance and structural design. The selection of materials and colors needs to be selected and considered based on the characteristics of outdoor equipment. Designing with manufacturing feasibility and cost-effectiveness in mind is a challenge. Select appropriate manufacturing processes and materials to ensure that the product can approach producible standards at a reasonable cost.
