DESIGN NAME: Portable Mri
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Imaging Device
INSPIRATION: traditional mri is expensive and difficult to popularize in many areas, which limits its convenience and diagnostic popularity. In addition, closed mri is not convenient for knee joint scanning, which reduces patient cooperation and image quality. mobile mri devices are lighter. the cost is lower, and no specific equipment room is required, the current mri is mainly for head imaging, and the contradiction between the demand for joint scanning and the supply of equipment needs to be resolved.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: portable mri is a diagnostic imaging device that provides medical imaging solutions for application scenarios such as mobile environments, environments requiring immediate diagnosis (e.g., intensive care units), or underdeveloped regions/countries. this mri system is designed to meet the demand for joint scans of the knee, neck, and other areas of the body, while reducing the size of the device and making it easier to move around, thus facilitating better coordination of medical resources.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The device can be set up in mobile, free situations, or it can be pushed by the doctor to where it is needed. Patients can choose to sit or lie in a hospital bed, and simply place the joints they need to scan independently or with the assistance of medical staff in the RF coil for rapid imaging. Doctors can remotely obtain relevant information through tablet computers, and this information will form a network medical information database through the cloud network, providing convenience and assistance for the next consultation and diagnosis, as well as stage disease prevention.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The shell of the device can be made by abs injection molding, which can not only meet the standards of medical devices, but also meet a certain strength and save the cost. The internal transmission and drive mechanism can use FRP and other materials with certain rigidity and fatigue resistance, which can ensure the stability and service life of the entire system, and is also compatible with the use needs of mri devices.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: magnetic resonance imaging is another great progress in medical imaging after ct. mri has the advantages of multi-orientation, multi-parameter, multi-sequence, no radiation, no bone artifact, no damage, high contrast, high resolution, etc. But most clinical mri scanners are based on superconducting magnets, which are extremely large and heavy and expensive to locate and maintain, and the shortcomings of traditional mri systems have led to growing interest in developing portable mri scanners. portable mei scanners can provide convenient and efficient medical imaging solutions for mobile environments (such as ambulances and field hospitals), "points of care" (such as on-site medical tents), environments requiring immediate diagnosis (such as intensive care units), rural or underdeveloped regions/countries, and other application scenarios; compared with traditional superconducting magnetic mri imaging equipment, it has the advantages of high cost performance, portability, and compatibility with implanted metal in the body. This project proposes the concept of portable mri to meet the needs of "point-to-point" real-time nmr scanning diagnosis in human body. that is, a magnetic array and rf coil are constructed around the target site to form a ring pair of permanent magnet array low field portable mri system. by optimizing the permanent magnet array, the uniformity of the overall field intensity is guaranteed. in order to facilitate the use of doctors and patients, the structure layout, human-machine relationship, interaction process in-depth analysis and iterative design; while satisfying the use function, the machine is more compact and convenient to move, the user experience of using mri imaging system on patients' body parts is improved, the medical treatment process is simplified, the immediate imaging effect of multiple scenes and multiple people is achieved under the condition of patients' physical conditions is limited, the diagnostic efficiency is improved, and the operation and maintenance cost is reduced.
CHALLENGE: the most difficult part of this design was to reduce the weight of the magnet and ensure a balance between its magnetic field strength and gradient, so as to achieve good joint imaging while ensuring that the product volume was light enough. our design of sparse ring-pair permanent magnet arrays based on conventional helbach arrays and c-type/t magnets to achieve our purpose will be a huge breakthrough.
