| DESIGN NAME: WSD PRIMARY FUNCTION: Speciality Coffee Maker INSPIRATION: Futuristic architecture was the inspiration starting point as this is a coffee station more than a coffee machine, as well as, Robots and A.I. on the other side, due to the automation of movements and the limited need for interaction from the user. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Specialty coffee machine for drip coffee has an automated movement of the parts to collect grinded coffee from the upper container and move, with a rotation, to the water outlet position, in the front. One button and it's done! The user can modify or pre-set with a knob the details of grinding, temperature, and volume of water. Our state-of-the-art machine is designed to brew your favorite blends to perfection, with precise temperature control and customizable settings. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Super easy operated by the user pressing one button after selecting by the knob, the grams of coffee and the temperature and volume of water. Refilling of water and beans is easy by the top lid of the two containers. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project was developed in Italy with the constant update by internet with the client and the manufacturer. It took around six months totally to finish the project while the working prototype phase took around two months. After almost nine months the project reached the production phase. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Different materials are involved due to the complex nature of the structure. ABS for plastic parts, Glass for the flat base with touch interface and the kettle, Metal for the funnel and mechanical parts that allow the automatic movement of the funnel. There is a coffee beans grinder with conical burr in order to have a perfect grinding, touch buttons to make the outlook clean and simple and a led display to feedback the user about the status and changes. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Dimension are 310 x 267 x 340h - Power 60hz 220v -Heating up to 99°C - Grinding selection from 0.75 to 0.1 mm - Water tank 1L TAGS: coffee, machine, beans, espresso, drip, kettle, automated RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Deep expert in the Eruopean coffee products and business, we started a journey in the drip coffee that is not that common in our own countries. This was the new challenge we accepted : Make a eycatching, modern and easy to use drip coffee machine. The team was of the two old friends and designers that have designed lots of coffee machines. CHALLENGE: Expert in espresso, fully automatic and capsule machines, we started to drink a lot of drip coffee, also to stay awake and design. We tried to put some tech innovation ( automated movement, touch buttons and magnetic knob) avoiding a colorfull display, cause we don't like everything in our kitchen to become a display.
