DESIGN NAME: Pandaid
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Website For Infectious Diseases
INSPIRATION: Tachikawa developed PANDAID website to make the most of our creativity and design wisdom to heal the pain in our world and to overcome the difficulties. It is co-edited by volunteers, including doctors, editors, etc. Over 100 volunteers are invested in this project, each with their own expertise. PANDAID is currently available in six languages, and more to come. In addition, PANDAID members keep making our own infographics and posters as needed to deliver intuitive content that the public can easily understand.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: PANDAID is a website dedicated to protecting lives from pandemics. It is co-edited by volunteers, including doctors, editors, and more. The editorial emphasis goes towards providing scientific facts in ways that are easy to understand and to implement. As part of the project, there're other developments, a face shield to prevent splashes, signage to protect social distance humorously, and posters to communicate its importance.

SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: As part of this project, a face shield that can be easily made from an A4-size clear file that takes no more than 30 seconds to complete is developed. The template, which requires no particular equipment, is available for free online alongside a tutorial video and has been viewed by more than one million on social media. Everyone can make one easily, and hopefully individually contribute to making the shortage of medical protective equipment easier to address. This movement is not limited to Japan, and many medical institutions all over the world have been sending their appreciation of face shield donations.
