Interview with Ghazaleh Hajibabaiy at Wednesday 20th of April 2016 FS: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design? GH: Chuva song from Mariza who is Portuguese singer. FS: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve? GH: I tried to show the emotions like happy and sad at the same time with a hope. The hope has a big roll in my design. FS: What are your future plans for this award winning design? GH: I want to make it and show it as A'design award winner with my other works in Iran. FS: How long did it take you to design this particular concept? GH: It took about a week. FS: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration? GH: Because I got a positive feeling from the song. In addition the song has a good message and it is hope. I wanted to show it and have it as a pendant in the real world that remembers me the hope. FS: Is your design being produced or used by another company, or do you plan to sell or lease the production rights or do you intent to produce your work yourself? GH: I plan to produce it myself or with a company. But I prefer a company wants to produce it. FS: Where there any other designs and/or designers that helped the influence the design of your work? GH: the combination of colors and materials. FS: Who is the target customer for his design? GH: his target is having this design as a symbol of his life. FS: What sets this design apart from other similar or resembling concepts? GH: the design's meaning and its combination. FS: How did you come up with the name for this design? What does it mean? GH: its name is the same with the song's name and means rain. FS: Which design tools did you use when you were working on this project? GH: Gemvision Matrix and tspline FS: What is the most unique aspect of your design? GH: the design's meaning and its combination. FS: Who did you collaborate with for this design? Did you work with people with technical / specialized skills? GH: nobody FS: What is the role of technology in this particular design? GH: I have designed it with the programms. It means the technology has a big roll and effect in my design. In addition it will be made with the 3D printer that is a part of technology. FS: Is your design influenced by data or analytical research in any way? What kind of research did you conduct for making this design? GH: the song is in portuguese language that I needed a translater to understand what Maritza sings. FS: How did you decide to submit your design to an international design competition? GH: My design's meaning is the same round the world and I thought everybody can get the msg of design and its feeling when see it.
