The Nose is much more than a fashion brand. It is a new concept of accepting and viewing the world from an aesthetic perspective and of the uniqueness of people. Liliya Milpetrova- the creator of The Nose- is an artist with a simple vision: to have her creations and her story inspire others to find inner harmony. The name stems from Lilia's awkwardness in her bumpy nose during her teenage years. She is more than familiar with self-esteem issues: she suffered from Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD). Growing up in an era where a "bumped" nose is often considered an imperfection, or even more drastically a defect, she has taken her pain from this negativity and channelled it into a fashion accessories line aimed at people who like and want “themselves”. The development of this designer brand has not only allowed Liliya to enhance hear own self-image, but provided a way for other people to express their beauty through creativity and celebration of both our faults and our beauties, and the blurred line between the two. Lilia’s ability to turn "imperfection" into fashion is a trademark that appeals to everyone, especially those who suffer from BBD and other self-image issues. The Nose is both geared towards bringing out the best of what we have- our natural, beautiful self, and allowing it to shine. Liliya was born and raised in Bulgaria. In 2009, at the age of 27, she left her native country for London where she continued to study and develop her career as an artist. Having trained in Industrial Design and Fine Arts, she started to create one-of-a-kind pieces of jewellery, sculptures and other curious objects intended not just to express a concept but to give a visual plesure to the viewer. Liliya ashieves that by applying consummate skills of craftsmanship to every detail. Liliya’s work has been incorporated in many exhibitions and shows such as the Society of Women Artists (SWA) at Mall Galleries in London; British Jewellery Association & International Jewellery; London Fashion Week, Africa Fashion Week London, Craft Central London and others. Her philanthropic ideas has drawn the attention of prestigious magazines and newspapers like Elle, the Guardian and TimeOut.
